Why copying after download ps4

The copying procedure is also why you need to have way more free space on the HDD than the download file size. It copies the entire game and then deletes the original copy once it's finished. long story short: sony doesn’t want to spend extra cash on servers for traditional downloads, and forces you to copy the enitre game for a download, since the update only downloads the changes. The game copies with a new patch, which is why your ps4 has to copy THE ENTIRE GAME. I should also mention during preparing to download aka copying the ps4 is actually still downloading the patch just without a progress bar, because what you see during the downloading phase with a progress bar is the new files or data of the latest patch but because each new patch contains the changes from the older ones as well so what looks.
